Ride the Wave, a youth coaching initiative by Break the Wheel, supports polytechnic students navigating challenges. The team wanted more than a website—an experience that reassures students they’re not alone.

The Ride the Wave team needed an engaging way to introduce the concept of life’s ups and downs to polytechnic students — in a relatable, interactive way. Traditional websites felt too formal and static, failing to capture youth attention. Moreover, the subjects of mental health and coaching could potentially feel intimidating; the Ride the Wave team was wary of a heavy-handed approach scaring off their potential audience.

An interactive digital experience designed to spark curiosity
Hatch Media leveraged its teams intuitive understanding of youth perspectives to design a website with bold visuals, a conversational tone, and elements of motion for a dynamic browsing experience. We integrated storytelling with sign-up flow, so users would understand the program before committing. Ultimately, we developed an interactive website experience designed for youths to explore and understand the Ride the Wave's offerings in a friendly and educational way.
